Well, duh, of course you do. I guess the question should really be: do you think your property is over-assessed, meaning valued by the township or county at a higher price than it’s really worth? Does it seem like similar houses nearby with roughly the same size lots have taxes much lower than yours? If so, you might consider appealing the taxes. It is not really that hard, though you will need to commit to spending a little time and doing some research that corroborates your claim that your home is over-valued. Find out how to do it.
