Our daughter just got a puppy and we were tasked with taking care of him for the first couple of weeks, since her apartment wouldn’t allow dogs. She’s moved to a new one now, and the puppy, Willoughby, is with her. While he was here, we were very focused on house training and getting him to recognize his name. As we all know, Google knows what we search, and a lot of dog-related posts and ads started showing up on my computer. I found one featuring a bunch of very innovative dog products. Sure, some are over the top, but there were several that I thought were great ideas. I especially liked the glow-in-the dark collar and leash. I am also thinking of investing in the cover for our van’s seats; we take our dogs up to Maine and back a couple times a year and the van gets pretty disgusting. Speaking of disgusting, we love our dog bathtub and have used it for years. It saves your back and allows you to drain the water out of the garage or wherever you might be bathing your dog. Speaking of disgusting (again), I don’t know if this works, but with Waldo’s breath, I might try this toothbrush. And one more nod to disgusting: the dog hair that collects in the dryer on our clothes, sheets and towels is pretty gross. This device may be on order as well….
We have two dogs and walking them at the same time can be challenging (they are around 100 pounds each). I am going to order this dual retractable leash. While our dogs don’t love to go on long walks, they do like to swim. For safety in the water for less strong swimmers, here is a flotation vest (like a life preserver for your dog). One of the reasons our boys love to swim is their heavy coats; they get hot. I saw a nifty cooling vest–great if you’re somewhere very warm and there isn’t a place for your dog to swim.
